Under the ticker MSRT, MassRoots will become the first public cannabis company built on a revenue model centered entirely around social media platforms.
MassRoots is led by founder Isaac Dietrich’s simple but effective concept of a social media network with like-minded cannabis enthusiasts that don’t necessarily want to broadcast their enthusiasm on networks like Facebook which can cause some serious social and professional complications. In two years time, MassRoots has grown its network to over 275,000 active users.
During that time, Dietrich and his team have had some significant challenges, the most recent and arguably most significant of which was Apple blocking MassRoots from the Apple store. Fortunately, MassRoots was reinstated into the app store, and the prospects for the company look strong as they move into their IPO.
Shares of MassRoots will begin trading first on the OTC marketplace. At the time of the last fundraising round last year (in which MassRoots raised $475,000), the company was valued at $5 million.
